In an emergency, do not contact the GP if it is a serious or life-threatening situation.
Please go straight to A&E (Accident & Emergency) or call 999.
Examples of emergencies include:
Loss of consciousness or acute confusion
Severe chest pain
Difficulty breathing
Severe bleeding
Stroke symptoms or persistent seizures (fits)
Severe allergic reactions
Severe burns or scalds
Major trauma (e.g. road traffic accident, serious fall)
Remember:
Your GP cannot deal with emergencies.
Always use 999 or A&E for serious or life-threatening situations.
