 Please go straight to A&E (Accident & Emergency) or call 999.

Examples of emergencies include:

  • Loss of consciousness or acute confusion

  • Severe chest pain

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Severe bleeding

  • Stroke symptoms or persistent seizures (fits)

  • Severe allergic reactions

  • Severe burns or scalds

  • Major trauma (e.g. road traffic accident, serious fall)

Remember:

  • Your GP cannot deal with emergencies.

  • Always use 999 or A&E for serious or life-threatening situations.
